Ball Research was founded in 1985 by Kenneth W. Linville, Ph.D. During his previous eight years as a Field
Technical Development Representative for Diamond Shamrock, Kalo Laboratories, and U.S. Borax, Dr. Linville
spent many hours summarizing university herbicide field research data. He soon realized that this public-sector
data was reported in a frustrating variety of non-compatible formats, resulting in under utilization
by decision-makers. Dr. Linville was well aware of the need for field product performance information
in a standardized, useful format, and he envisioned software products that would make this possible.
Today, Dr. Linville's vision is reality. With products from Ball Research, this data can be accessed
quickly and easily in a standardized format.
Beginning in January 2003, Dr. Linville began the product development research necessary to determine if
there was a need for software programs and databases in the extended care community. The results of this
research showed that there were, indeed, specific needs that had not been addressed. With his 17 years of
business experience in the development of databases and software programs, Dr. Linville decided to put his
expertise to work.
Eighteen months later the BALL PROGRAMS Version 1.0 is in use. Ball Research is happy
that it is able to use its expertise and experience to develop affordable management software products and
services that can assist Extended Care Facilities.
Ball Research in its 25 year, continues to develop software for extended care facilities using its trusted "bottom up approach" (see Electronic
Documentation 101 "How
Software is Developed"). Presently, work is continuing on our Electronic Charting of Nurses' Notes and Doctors' Orders module. Evaluators of our Electronic Charting module are needed. Please contact
us for details.
